Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the benefits of football scholarships and community service. The first is his family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. They raised nine children on a Eufala farm. Second football he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the nation's best lineman. In his time as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national championships. Selmon was honored when the National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in the year 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers played an all-pro three times before beginning a business career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that The Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young people in America. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He coached his university team in 1975. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
