Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up in the same household, figured out very early how to get out of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Songs were written by her before she knew how to write or read. The first guitar she received was gifted to her at the age of eighteen. The singer began her singing career at the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. She recorded her first album during the same year with Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While she was studying, she already established herself within the local arena. But her dream was to to perform at a much greater level. On the very day she graduated the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required a new singer at around this time. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 as her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. For the first time, in 1974.
