Cartwright was married to Steve Gullion in 1976. The couple has two kids. Born to England, Angela is the younger sister of actor Veronica Cartwright. When she was young Angela was a character on Linda Williams the sweet little step-daughter of The Danny Thomas Show in 1953. From 1957 until 1964, she appeared as a participant in the program. Following that, she was cast in the role of Brigitta in the popular Julie Andrews movie The Sound of Music (1965). Her return to TV series aired as Penny Robinson in Lost in Space (1955) which ran between 1965 and 1968. Even with cheap special effects and a sloppy narrative it is popular today.
