Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. She made her acting debut in the year 1996 with the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role as 'Starship Troopers' in starring in Starship Troopers. Amy was unable to make the transition from modeling to acting, as models are not usually considered to be actors of any kind. They are usually given smaller or unimportant roles. Amy did not give up. She worked her way up to greater roles, starting in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Then she stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years working. She then worked on some of the biggest films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played a recognizable character.
