
Stephanie Sigman is a Mexican-American actress. Her debut role was in the 2011 Mexican crime drama film Miss Bala. The film also featured her in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman made an appearance in Narcos (2015) as well as S.W.A.T.(2017) in the first and second seasons, respectively. Sigman was the daughter of her Mexican mother, and an American father, Lee Sigman (a New York Yankees Scout from Kansas), who both were born in Ciudad Obregon. Through her father, Sigman is the daughter of a U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] She's an U.S. citizen by virtue of her father. The brother of her and the baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman married actress Barbara Mori Sigman. Before making her debut in film in Rio de Oro, she began her career as Mexican TV actor. She played Laura Guerrero, the lead in Miss Bala, a Mexican crime drama film. [6] The Mexican entry in the category of Best Foreign Language Film was chosen at the 84th Academy Awards. [7][8] The film didn't make it to the final shortlist. For her film performance, Sigman was nominated in the year 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award.
